Origin

Three Renowned Matcha Regions in China

Leafmill’s matcha originates from three of China’s most prestigious tea-growing regions—Hangzhou in Zhejiang, Wuyishan in Fujian, and Enshi in Hubei. These misty, mountainous areas offer fertile soil, clean air, and a cool climate ideal for tea cultivation. Drawing on Hangzhou’s deep tea heritage, Fujian’s pristine forests, and Hubei’s aromatic green tea legacy, we carefully select small, high-elevation gardens that produce consistently pure and potent matcha leaves.

Eco-Friendly

Zero Pesticides, No Harmful Residues

All Leafmill tea gardens follow organic cultivation principles—no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, and full respect for natural ecosystems. Select farms are certified organic by trusted authorities such as USDA and EU Organic, ensuring export-grade safety with zero pesticide residue. Every batch of leaves is tested for heavy metals and contaminants, making our matcha safe for daily wellness.

Shade-Grown Leaves

Boosted Flavor & Vibrance

Twenty days before harvest, our tea plants are shaded with black netting to limit direct sunlight. This technique significantly increases the leaves’ amino acid and chlorophyll content, giving the matcha a brighter green color, a smoother taste, and enhanced umami depth.

Slow & Cold Grinding for Purity

produce only about 30 grams of matcha powder per hour. The slow, cool grinding process preserves the tea’s nutritional value, aroma, and fine texture—yielding matcha that is rich, smooth, and deeply nourishing.
